High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
Begins Monday evening, ends Thursday afternoon
This three-day training course is designed to enhance participants' capacity to offer mature leadership within their churches. It draws on the insights of Murray Bowen's Family Systems Theory, and is a successor to the well-received course Church Leadership & Family Systems, which Bridge Builders has offered for several years. Christian leaders are welcome to apply, regardless of whether they have attended any previous Bridge Builders course.
Alastair McKay is Executive Director of Bridge Builders, and has been providing training, mediation and consultancy services to churches since 1996. Alastair has an MA in Conflict Transformation, is studying for a Doctorate of Ministry, and has contributed to the books Making Peace With Conflict (Herald Press, 1999) and How to Become a Creative Church Leader (Canterbury Press, 2008).
Colin Patterson is assistant director of Bridge Builders, and an Anglican priest. He has worked as a training officer for the Diocese of Durham, and is an experienced adult educator. He is author of the Grove booklet How to Learn Through Conflict, and a contributor to 101 Great Ideas for Growing Healthy Churches.
