This five-day residential course is focused on conflict in church settings, and serves as the foundation for further Bridge Builders courses.

Presenters

The course will be led by Colin Patterson, Sandra Cobbin and Rupert Ward. Colin is Assistant Director of Bridge Builders, and an Anglican priest.  He has worked as a training officer for the Diocese of Durham, is an experienced adult educator, and is author of the Grove booklet How to Learn Through Conflict, and a contributor to 101 Great Ideas for Growing Healthy Churches. Sandra is an independent trainer and consultant, who belongs to the Bridge Builders Network. She works with business and church leaders on management and leadership skills. Rupert Ward leads a church in the centre of Edinburgh and has experience of training leadership groups in other churches & charities. He is a member of the International Association of Facilitators and has also trained in Counselling and Theology.

This three-day training course equips you to lead a one-day training workshop on church conflict, using the approach that you have encountered in your previous training with Bridge Builders.

Presenters 

Alastair McKay is Executive Director of Bridge Builders, and has been providing training, mediation and consultancy services to churches since 1996.  Alastair has an MA in Conflict Transformation, is studying for a Doctorate of Ministry, and has contributed to the books Making Peace With Conflict (Herald Press, 1999) and How to Become a Creative Church Leader (Canterbury Press, 2008).
