Bridge Builders advanced training course for mediation skills has changed.

Over the last 12 months Colin Moulds and Jo Williams have been working to review the course to bring it into line with the training requirements demanded by the College of Mediators. This work has now been completed and we are excited to be able to announce that the MIC course is now approved by College of Mediators and appears on their website as an approved course.

As an approved course, the training now requires all participants to undergo formal assessment of skills on the last day. If successfully passed, participants will received a certificate indicating they have passed a College of Mediators Approved Mediation Training Course.

This work is the first step in implementing fully functioning Bridge Builders mediation service which will be available to all. The aim of this service is to be able to offer participants who complete and successfully pass the mediation training, the opportunity to work with experienced BB mediators for an agreed probationary period. At the end of this period, mediators will be accredited by Bridge Builders to undertake work on BB’s behalf.

We are also looking into developing proper CPD opportunities and formal supervision for anyone who wishes to work on BB mediation cases.

This is an exciting time for Bridge Builders and builds on our mission to serve the church in the UK.
