Just Remind Me? Differentiation – what does it look like for me?

April 25, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

| Free

Want to refresh some of the key ideas from TC1?

This workshop is designed for people who have previously completed a Bridge Builders Transforming Conflict 1/Transforming Church Conflict course. It’s one of a series called Just Remind Me?, offering opportunities to refresh and build on some of the key ideas from the foundation course and embed those ideas in our practice and local context.

Build on the foundation

One of the key concepts of family systems theory, is the idea of ‘differentiation’ – being able to speak and act from a place of clarity and conviction, while staying in contact with those around us. In times of anxiety, people find it difficult to differentiate, often defining themselves reactively for or against a person or group.

This short workshop will be an opportunity to delve more deeply into what it means for a leader to differentiate, how it might impact an anxious system, and the challenges of managing our own anxiety when facing the multiple pressures of ministry.

Alongside input on the topic, there will be opportunity to reflect with others in a small group on your own context through a short case study you can bring to the day.

Book for this workshop if you found the insights from Family Systems theory introduced in the foundation course helpful, and if you would like to explore about what it looks like for you to work at these insights in practice.
