Training of Trainers: Leading a Bridge Builders Workshop
November 8, 2016 @ 10:00 am - November 10, 2016 @ 4:00 pm| Free
This three-day course is open to anyone who has completed Bridge Builders’ foundation course, Transforming Church Conflict. However, priority will be given until 1 August 2016 to sponsored applicants. The course has proved particularly useful when several participants from the same regional area (e.g. a diocese, district or synod) are trained as part of a strategic initiative to bring about a change of culture.
Since 1996, Bridge Builders has led hundreds of introductory workshops throughout the UK for a wide variety of church groups. The Training of Trainers course draws on that experience to equip others to lead a one- or two-day workshop, or a series of workshop sessions. The course introduces Bridge Builders’ training approach and provides detailed guidelines on how to lead elements of a training event using our workshop manual and materials. The course also helps participants to explore how the materials can be adapted to their own context.
Bridge Builders has a vision to help Christians and the Church to learn to handle conflict, deal with our differences, engage respectfully with one another, and make decisions in collaborative and consensual ways – so that we can live out the reconciliatory gospel that Jesus revealed. We believe that this will transform the Church’s witness and outreach to the world.

Colin Moulds is Executive Director of Bridge Builders. He has been providing training, mediation and consultancy services in both the workplace and churches since 2009. Colin’s experience in Leadership and Management is built from 23 years with the world’s largest mobile telecommunications provider.

He was a training officer for the Diocese of Durham, is an experienced adult educator, and is author of the Grove booklet How to Learn Through Conflict, and a contributor to 101 Great Ideas for Growing Healthy Churches.
The course will include teaching, group work and practice. Practical in focus, and undergirded by clear theory, the sessions will demonstrate Bridge Builders’ active, learning-centred approach to training. Each day will include times of prayer and worship. The course is intensive, so work commitments during the free time should be avoided.
