Colin joined the Bridge Builders team in February 2015, taking over the role of Executive Director from Alastair McKay, the co-founder. Colin has been running his own successful business providing workplace mediation services to a wide range of clients from across the organisational spectrum. His work includes mediation, mediation and conflict management skills training, management development training and change management consultancy. Prior to this, Colin spent 23 years with Vodafone working in continuous improvement and customer experience.
Colin worships at St John the Baptist Church, Grove where he was churchwarden. Colin is also Chair of Trustees for a small local charity, Cornerstone, which runs a coffee/book shop in the centre of the village. The shop is a collaboration between four of the churches in the village and provides opportunities for work experience for disadvantaged adults, support for the lonely and elderly and a great working experience for the many volunteers who help run the shop on a day to day basis.
Colin is married to his lovely wife Jenny. They have four grown children (Simon, James, Abigail and Tim) who have all left home. He also has two dogs and a cat. To help Colin relax he enjoys watching Formula 1, doing DIY projects around the house and fixing things. As a follower of Tottenham Hotspur he has learned patience and endurance in the midst of unnecessary suffering.
Colin passionately believes that transforming the way Christians address conflict is a vital ministry in helping God’s people be an effective witness of Christ’s love to a fallen world. Through dealing with conflicts in a loving and supportive way, Christians model God’s grace and forgiveness for all.
