Bursaries

If you are on a low income, a bursary may be available to help cover the cost of a residential course. A limited number of bursaries are available each year to help with the cost of residential courses for those on low incomes.

The Bridge Builders Bursary Committee (a committee of members of the Board of Trustees) considers all applications and decides if an offer can be made.

  • Bursaries of up to 50% of the cost of residential course fees are offered subject to meeting qualification criteria and availability of funds.
  • Applicants already in receipt of a charitable grant or other financial assistance towards the course fee are required to pay not less than 20% of the course fee.

Bridge Builders bursaries are not available:

  • for one day workshops;
  • if a Bridge Builders bursary was awarded in the period of 3 years prior to the date of the course for which the bursary is applied for;
  • if an applicant has savings or other assets  (excluding value of main residence) which are not earmarked for a particular purpose (deemed satisfactory by Bursary Committee, e.g. education, savings towards house for retirement) valued at more than £20,000.
